its amazing how these boring field trips and lessons can turn out to be useful eh? how so? NO LESSONS!!! hooray! rather a boring day out of school than a tedious day of lessons in school...well anyway here's a recount of some of the boring stuff we did for this week...well some lessons were superb though (:

nothing happened, but was the best day, since it was HOLIDAY!
tue:
my class went for the singapore river trail...*yawn* how boring...all we did was walk around here and there, act interested as mr kevin ng explained the importance of this thing and that...
and we had to make a silly sketch of the boat quay area...mine was SUPER sketchy... multiple lines...very light strokes...very small...nick ng's looked great to me, but mr kev ng said it had no focal point and had no message...well its not like we were told to learn sketching were we?
then we walked over this so-and-so bridge, then the mr kevin ng asked us to make a err...what's that called? no idea. some mappy thingy of the stretch of shops. and while we were doing that, the teachers just sat in the coffee bean...what a way to slack eh?
so kenneth and nick were walking so fast. i was wondering how they mapped it out so quickly at first. then when i was halfway through, they were already walking back and said, 'let's go, we're finished.' and i looked at their paper and lo and behold, they missed out so many shops...goodness gracious me...and they dint even find 'the penny black', which was a shop we were supposed to look for...
then we went to eat. most at either bk or mcdonalds, while nick, ken, leon, jang, ben soh and i went to a foodcourt. i ate nasi lemak which had green rice...haha! it looked really weird.
so after we ate, darren realised he left his cam in bk...i mean, how blur can one get? so mr foo went back with him to get it anyway...
and on the bus, mr kev ng asked us whether any of us knew what the treasure, which we were supposed to find, was. of course nobody actually bothered to look out for it so nobody knew...even till now...
wed:
public utilities board trip...i finally found out who mr peter tan is...i mean, i always recognised his face, and known him as block nose crying man, but never knew HE was peter tan! i can see why people don't like him...everytime he speaks, i just feel like rolling my eyes and go, "whatever..."
so we had an intro presentation by the manager of pub...about the same as the one he did the previous friday, so was pointless really...
then we were told that we were to go to 4 diff stations over the day...looking at the schedule, all one can say is: boring...pointless...
first we went to check for water leakage...weird...useless...
then we tested different types of water in the lab. this was the only thing i actually found interesting, just because i like pratical lessons (: they're always fun to me. and maybe also because nick and i smuggled total 4 pH indicators out...haha
after that was break! the best part of the trip. but what was the food provided? 1 chicken wing, 1 spring roll, 1 swiss roll cake per person...so little...and of course 1
seasons packet drink, from the selection of ice apple tea, ice lemon tea, and chrysanthymum tea. greedy people like eugene didnt wait for instructions and helped themselves to seconds. i didnt really bother to take seconds, but just took another drink. o yes, and one of nick's braces' brackets came off...
all nice things have to come to an end...just like break. so we went to this room where we would find out how much water we save using...using...what's that called? cant remember. was applicable and important, but it was really boring...
finally, the last station of our boring day, we went to a tour of info boards...haha, sounds ridiculous i know! its just loading us with info, info, info and info. was really boring too...so after that we went into a sitting room. and ian took i think 8 bottles of newater...haha! "2 for each member of my family," he proudly announced to everyone who would listen. i just took 1 bottle for fun haha.
then we went back to the large audi where everyone was supposed to gather and we had to wait a while...then we got this alarm egg, which only gues up to 5min, so its rather lousy, and a book of postits, and a thing they call 'water saving kit'. nothin much after that.
i got nice pics (incl 3 of sam). and also, after i got back, my mom poured the newater into the fish tank saying that it's only fit for fish. but i'm not sure its even safe for fish!
thu:
the most fun of the 3 days (: first we had microbio. peter from 1.10 borrowed my lab coat the previous day, and was supposed to return it to me...only he dint bring it! grrrr...so i had to borrow from 1.13 people, who definitely would have brought their lab coats since they were having their microbio after us. so i borrowed from leon, and turned out it wasnt a lab coat at all! it's just a white shirt which leon's been using the whole year without getting noticed haha! but anyone who wore it would look retarted...the sleeves are shorter than that of the uniform.
in the lab with mrs p. supervising...sigh...it was one of the only few boring practs...cos we only used the microscope! that's super boring! so we shall skip all that happened.
after that was poetry, which turned out to be the most interesting course (: to me that is. ms jean lua is such a good teacher. then i wrote a poem with ryan and nick. i think ryan's verse in the sonet was the worst...haha.
then after lunch we went to yakult factory, which was rather interesting too (: nice to see what they have to say about vitagen too. i guess they're reasoning as to why yakult is better is valid...but i prefer the taste of vitagen all the same (:
seeing the production process is really interesting...and of course, it was only expected that they give us a free bottle of yakult eh?

ok this was meant to be the most boring day...but a sudden turn of events and it was most interesting. some students from shanghai came and we were supposed to entertain them...at first i was like wathe hell???? i mean, who in the world could entertain a person who spoke your mother tongue (which we are weak in), with a powerpoint presentation which is so in depth in english, which they cant really understand? nobody really, and i'm sure even if we successfully translated what the presentation meant, they still would be bored, cos who wants to learn about stupid water?
so nick slammed the tablet shut. and when i say slammed, i MEAN slammed. i was shocked. even the girl was shocked! haha. she dint say of coure, but you could tell by her expression. so we just started talking. just chatting, finding about each other, about where they're from et cetera. then kenneth join in the convo too. and a while later, a girl from another group came to join us and she complained in chinese to her friend about them...couldnt catch what she said...she said it so fast! that group must have been super anti-social...leaving her out of everything.
then we introduced ourselves. we had to introduce ourselves in chinese, like duh, and we told them our chinese name only. when we first introduced kenneth we told them he is 'shun min', and they were like huh? so we repeated again twice. then they asked (in chinese), "do you have a chinese name?" haha! was nick and my pronounciation that bad? maybe it was drowned by the chatter of those other people...anyway, they finally got our names, and they told us theirs' too. the gi- wait...i should stop calling them girls...since they're older than us by 1 year anyway. so anyway, the female that joined on her own accord introduced herself first. i cant remember her name now but i have her pic (: tell u why later. the other one, who was assigned to us, is called (tao)(meng)(yun). if your comp cant read chinese words, then it's 'tao' (clay) 'meng' (dream) 'yun' (cloud). the surname sticks out like a sore thumb really...well i dun have her pic, but all i can say is that her hairstyle reminded me of an actress in a chinese show, which i shant say what.
after that, they started whispering to each other, and i caught a few words which told me something about camera...then the 3 guys started whispering too haha. then our original group female asked us whether we wanna take a pic. so of course we agreed...at first we asked mr foo to help us take the pic. he agreed and then walked off..weird(o)<--(you dun understand this just tag) so in the end we got brian, since he was in our project group anyway. o yes i forgot to say, he wasnt in the convo, cos he had to work with jie jun on their part of the project, which was completed too late and was never used. haha. so the pic was alrite, since they dint ask to take another one. or course, after introducing, we continued talking normally, and silly people like reno, eugene, derek (only when eugene does it. he's the type that doesnt like to jeer alone) and isaac, kept on saying we were flirting with girls (they used that word, so i'll leave it as that)...fine, they dint target us all at once, but it started with nick (by isaac and reno), then shifted to kenneth (by eugene), then shifted back to nicholas (by reno, eugene, derek and isaac), then became both nick and ken (by all 4 of em' again), then suddenly i was brought in...by RENO. while all this was going on, the two girls were like askin us (in chinese again. just take it that everything i say that they say, and everything i say that we say has been translated. k? good) "what are they saying?" and nick said "o these people are crazy." mengyun was smiling and *ms unknown* was like 'err...ok...'. haha, such diff reactions. then anyway, my group presented to the class first. blahpety blahpety blah. *see/hear gabriel talking to 3~4 females* end of presentation. then we went back to our seats and the 2 females started talkin to us again. so then it was gab's group's turn to present, and the girls who were with their group came over the me and nick...wow...kenneth was in the front trying to find faults with gabriel's presentation though, so it was like 6 females and 2 guys! one of them asked us to do their english homework. and all the others were like "oh i wanna copy when we get back!" i find it quite amazing, that even though we people come from different backgrounds, different cultures and all that, people still have the same idea of copying homework...haha. and we usually dont mind, that's the strange thing.
then 3 of them wanted to go to the toilet...haha! and nick actually told them there isnt any girls toilet...how silly he is, surely everyone knows there are female staff toilets scattered all over the old block? so anyway i told him and he took them to the toilet. when he came back, everyone was going, "oh nicholas what were you doing with them in the dark toilet?", "why did you come back the same time as they are?" or "you took longer than needed for them to pee...what were u you doing with that extra time?" how typical of them...is that all they can think about? people have to stay outside the toilet cos its common courtesy to wait for the guest to come out and lead them back... when gab's presentation was finished, kenneth came back, and the females still stayed. then 1 of the females saw our badges and asked what they were. at first they thought they were name tags haha, cos our's is the class com badge so its words, not the crest. so anyway we explained to them that they meant that we were in the class com. kenneth was (fu)(ban)(zhang), nicholas was (ti)(yu)(dai)(biao), and i was (mi)(shu). u should know what that means...and if you dont, you should at least know what positions each of us holds in the class com. then after all the presentations, mr foo wanted to 'lecture' the class for horrible behavior...i already switched off and was thinking "whatever dude..." and the females were still busy chattering amongst themselves. and mr foo was so silly to say in ENGLISH, "girls, i need to speak to
my class now, can u please keep quiet?" when he said this i was half laughing at his silliness and half loathing the word 'my'...i mean it's not as if we belong to him...besides, he only joined a few weeks ago...on the other hand, if mrs vijay said that, i wouldnt mind a bit. perhaps i'm just biased? i dun think so anyway. o yes and sammy's group was chosen to present to the year 1 ip cohort, along with those chosen from the other classes.
so then it was recess! and 2 of the females wanted to go to the toilet...so i took them there this time. thank goodness there was no 'welcoming committee' when i went back, only nick and the other 4 females waiting. then there were other people just floating around, and they helped us 'escort' the females to the cpa.
then when we had to part ways at the cpa, they were all like saying, "o i cant bear to leave you guys." that was nice (: haha. and their teacher also thanked us for being such hospitable hosts. so then we went for recess.
when we were eating, gabriel suddenly came down and gave nick a prezzie! haha, it was from one of the girls. then he gave me a neoprint too, from the same girl. then i dont know exactly how nicholas got his second present, but when i saw him in class, he had it anyway (: haha. derek got 1 too. i think gabriel did too.
then after our long recess, we had to go to listen to all those boring presentations from other classes...it was like repeating over and over again what we already knew.
well that's about it...sry the post is so long...but it took me more than a week to complete it...
